01 Sen and these terms

Sen is a service of Vaporsoft, based in New York, United States (“Sen”, “we”, “us”). It lets creators publish a page at sen.vaporsoft.dev/username and receive tips and monthly subscriptions from supporters.

These terms apply to everyone who uses Sen: creators with a page, supporters who pay one, and visitors. By creating an account or making a payment, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you use Sen for a business or brand, you agree on its behalf and confirm you’re allowed to.

02 Your account

• You sign in with an emailed link or with Google, GitHub or Microsoft. There’s no password to manage; keep access to your email and those accounts secure, as anything done through your account is your responsibility.
• You must be at least 13 to use Sen, and at least 18 (and meet Stripe’s requirements) to receive payments. Anyone under 18 needs a parent’s or guardian’s permission to pay.
• Each account has one personal page, and brand pages as its allowance permits. Keep your details accurate.
• We may reclaim a username that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, or could mislead supporters.

03 Fees

Sen’s fee is a percentage of the amount the supporter chooses. Supporters pay it, with card processing, on top of that amount. The full breakdown is shown before every payment, and on the Pricing page.

• For example, a $10 tip costs the supporter $10.92, and the creator receives $10.00.
• Card processing is worked out so that, after Stripe’s cut, the creator receives the amount exactly. Where Stripe charges more (an international card, say), Sen covers the difference.
• Lower fees apply to payments to every page owned by a Supporter or by an account that has sent or received $300, and to payments such an account sends to any page.
• Payments start at $3. Pages offer tips and monthly tiers at fixed amounts ($3, $5 and $10; $15, $25 and $50 once the page’s owner has sent or received $50), plus one amount the creator sets.
• One payment can be up to $100; accounts that have sent or received $75, $200 and $250 can send up to $250, $500 and $1,000, as can Supporter accounts. The amount a creator sets for their own page is capped by their own limit. What a creator can receive is never limited.
• Prices are in US dollars. Creators are responsible for any tax on what they receive; Stripe may issue tax forms for their accounts.
• We’ll announce any fee increase at least 30 days ahead, here and by email to account holders. A subscription keeps the fee it started with.

04 Tips and subscriptions

• A tip or subscription is a payment to the creator, not a purchase from Sen. Sen processes it on the creator’s behalf through Stripe Connect.
• Checkout is hosted by Stripe and accepts cards (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) and Link. Payments appear on statements as VAPORSOFT* SEN, and subscription renewals as VAPORSOFT SEN.
• A tip’s message and email are optional. An anonymous tip shows the creator its amount and message, never who sent it.
• Subscriptions renew monthly on the day they started until cancelled. Cancel at any time: under Payments in your Sen account if you subscribed signed in, or from “Manage or cancel a subscription” on the creator’s page with the email you subscribed with. A cancelled subscription ends when the month already paid for does; that month isn’t refunded.
• What a tier’s description offers is provided by the creator, not by Sen. Creators must deliver what they promise.

05 Refunds and disputes

• Tips and subscription payments are gifts to a creator, and are final once made, with the exceptions below.
• If a payment was a mistake, a duplicate, or not made by you, email support@vaporsoft.dev within 30 days. We’ll look into it and, where it’s warranted, refund the whole payment, fees included. Refunds reach the card in 5 to 10 business days.
• A refunded payment is taken back from the creator’s balance, and Sen returns its fee.
• When a card’s issuer tells us a payment is likely fraudulent, we refund it in full straight away, and cancel the subscription it paid for.
• Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; it’s usually faster. Disputes are decided by the card issuer. While one is open, the creator’s share of the payment is taken back from their balance, and it’s returned to them if the dispute is decided in their favour.
• Supporter can be refunded on request within 30 days. A duplicate Supporter payment is refunded automatically.

06 Supporter and unlocks

Supporter is a one-time payment of $10 to Sen. It never renews and lasts for the life of your account. It includes the Supporter badge, shown on your page and your brand pages, and every unlock below. It isn’t transferable, and it ends, without a refund, if the account is deleted or the payment is refunded or lost to a dispute.

You can also buy Supporter as a gift for the owner of another personal page. It becomes theirs, on the same terms, and they can see it came from you. A gift is refunded to you in full if they are already a Supporter when the payment clears, and a refund of a gift, on request within 30 days or through a dispute, ends their Supporter. Sen may also give Supporter without a payment and may end Supporter it gave; a paid Supporter ends only as described above.

Without Supporter, everything but the badge unlocks as you send and receive payments on Sen (tips and subscription payments, after refunds):

Once reached, an unlock stays, even if a later refund lowers the total. Moving money in circles to reach one isn’t allowed. We may add new unlocks; the ones you have stay for as long as Sen offers them.

07 Payouts

• To receive payments, a creator connects a Stripe Express account. Stripe verifies identity and holds the balance, under the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which you accept when you connect.
• Balances are paid out to your bank once a month, on the 1st. Stripe may hold funds where its terms require.
• A brand page pays into its owner’s account or into its own, as its owner chooses.
• Your Stripe account is yours: it keeps your payout and tax records, and stays open if you leave Sen.

08 Acceptable use

Don’t use Sen to:

• break the law, or help anyone else do so;
• impersonate anyone, or mislead supporters about who you are or what they’re paying for;
• post content that sexualises minors, sexually explicit content, or content that harasses, threatens or promotes hatred against people;
• infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark or privacy;
• take payments for anything on Stripe’s restricted businesses list;
• commit fraud, launder money, or test stolen cards;
• probe, overload or get around Sen’s security or limits, or collect data from it automatically without permission.

09 Your content

• You own what you put on Sen. You give Sen permission to store, display and deliver it in order to run your page, and you confirm you have the right to publish it.
• We may remove content that breaks these terms.
• Sen’s name, logo and software belong to Vaporsoft.

10 Deactivation, deletion and suspension

• Deactivate at any time in Settings. Your pages go offline, supporters’ subscriptions are paused, and signing in again restores everything.
• Delete at any time in Settings. Your pages and their history are deleted, supporters’ subscriptions to them are cancelled, and Supporter ends. Your Stripe account and its balance stay yours.
• We may suspend or remove a page or account that breaks these terms or puts supporters or Sen at risk, and will tell you why where we can. Balances continue to pay out unless fraud or the law prevents it.

11 Disclaimers and liability

• Sen is provided as is. We work to keep it available and correct, but can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
• Creators are responsible for their pages and for what they promise supporters. Sen doesn’t endorse or guarantee them.
• To the extent the law allows, Sen isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability to you is limited to the greater of the fees you paid Sen in the previous 12 months and $50.
• You agree to cover Sen’s reasonable costs from claims caused by your content or your breach of these terms.
• Nothing here limits rights that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.

12 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, and disputes go to its courts. If you use Sen as a consumer, you keep the protections of the law where you live. Please email us first; most things can be settled directly.

13 Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Material changes are announced at least 30 days ahead by email to account holders. Continuing to use Sen after a change takes effect means you accept it.
